The main purpose of the NLUP is the upliftment of the rural poors specially the shifting cultivators, creation of self-sufficiency, better livelihoodfor them. The NLUP projext aims to helps farmer move away from the traditional slash and burn method of cultivation to move sustainable land-based means livelihood. It targetted to raise the living standard of the ruaral people by envisaging various schemes like plantation of rubber, hatkora, orange, oil palm, etc. The NLUP has been considered as a massive economic opportunities to set up viable family economy by subscribing to any of the prescribe NLUP trade.
